# Foodie Privacy Policy

Foodie ("the app", "we", "us") is a recipe-link vault that lets you save and
organize recipe links. This policy explains what data Foodie collects, why, and
the choices you have.

## Data we collect

When you create an account and use Foodie, we collect:

- **Account information** — your email address, display name, and a user ID,
  provided when you sign in with Apple, Google, or email and password.
- **Recipe data you save** — the recipe URL, a title, a preview thumbnail
  image, a category, notes, timestamps, and the name of the member who saved
  the recipe.
- **Shared vault membership** — the list of members who share a recipe vault
  with you.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photo library, health data, or
device advertising identifiers.

## How we use your data

We use this data only to operate the app: to sign you in, to store and sync
your saved recipes, and to share a vault between the members you invite. We do
not use your data for advertising or profiling.

## Tracking

Foodie does not track you across other apps or websites, and contains no
third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

## How your data is stored and shared

Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud
Firestore, and Cloud Functions), which acts as our data processor. Data is
stored on Google's servers in the European Union. We do not sell your personal
data and do not share it with third parties except Firebase as described here,
or where required by law.

When Foodie loads a preview for a recipe link, the link's address is sent to
its source website (for example Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, or a recipe site)
to retrieve a title and thumbnail image — the same way a link preview works in
other apps.

## Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account at
any time from **Settings → Delete account**. This permanently removes your
profile, removes you from shared vaults, anonymizes recipes you saved in shared
vaults, and deletes your sign-in credentials.

## Children

Foodie is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
data from them.

## Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the
"Last updated" date above.
